Hear from the Commencement Speakers:

"We often have doubts, especially about ideas, people, and things that truly matter to us. I have learned that being in a supportive environment with curious and receptive people, provides the space for these doubts to be acknowledged and challenged. We can be our worst critics and having a community that cares about our benevolence, is crucial in unmasking our talents."

-Millicent Sykes, Master of Arts – Counseling Psychology (Master’s Degree Commencement Speaker, San Diego Campus)

“We've harnessed our passion in the midst of tragedy, letting it burn stronger than ever before. Now is our time to share and expand it.”

-Scoti Wagner, Bachelor of Science – Herbal Sciences (Bachelor’s Degree Commencement Speaker, Kenmore Campus)

“During my time at Bastyr, I had moments when I doubted the future of this profession. Thinking about my cohorts always gave me reassurance that Naturopathic medicine continues to grow. Because they are the future of this profession, my cohorts are incredibly intelligent, kindhearted, and talented. After thinking about them, I felt confident that there is no way that the medicine they/we represent goes down.”

-Koichi Tanji, Dual Degree Master of Arts – Counseling Psychology and Doctor or Naturopathic Medicine (Doctoral Degree Commencement Speaker, Kenmore Campus)
